SUMMARY:Be part of our "advance team" for the Holiday Tree at MacNeil Park!
DESCRIPTION:In advance of the Dec. 15 holiday tree lighting at MacNeil Park\, co-sponsored by CPN and Sen. John Liu\, we need to string the lights onto the tree! \nWe will have people in a boom truck hanging the lights way up high\, but could use a few volunteers on the ground to get the lights ready to hang. We also would love to have volunteers contribute candy canes\, hot chocolate\, Christmas carolers…anything to make the event extra memorable! Contact Kat at kathryncervino(at)gmail.com if you’d like to help out. \nWe’ll do this during the week of Dec.9…time and date to follow. \nThanks to HSP for donating the truck for the tree-trimming!

SUMMARY:Coastal cleanup at Powell's Cove Park
DESCRIPTION:It’s spring cleaning time on the East River! Join us as we clean the polluted coast at Powell’s Cove Park in College Point\, and work shoulder to shoulder with like-minded people who want to make things better. \nWe will meet at the NEWEST entrance to PCP – the northernmost entrance\, at 7th Ave. and 130th (dead end\, down the hill from PS 129). It is a double gate and there may be cars parked in front of it so keep your eyes peeled for our signage. \n  \nWe will make a difference! Our event is part of the Riverkeeper Sweep\, in which volunteers at 100+ locations from Brooklyn to Albany are cleaning our riverbanks together. We’ll be out there even in light rain\, but not in a torrential downpour. \nIn partnership with Riverkeeper and Partnerships for Parks’ “It’s My Park Day!”
