SUMMARY:World Wetlands Day cleanup at Powell's Cove Park: NEW DATE!
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT will now be in the spring! Join us on MARCH 22 from 10 am – Noon! \nJoin us in celebration of the first weekend of spring — and a belated World Wetlands Day — to clean the coast of the magnificent Powell’s Cove Park in College Point! \nPowell’s Cove\, an environmental waterfront park completed in 1999\, has 17 acres are submerged marshland; only 7 acres of the park are on land. \n We’ll be working at low tide for maximum effectiveness\, and there is a LOT of trash-covered coastline that needs our help. Community Service credit available for students. \nNOTE: Meet at the 7th ave. and 130th st. entrance to the park. \nThanks to our co-sponsors: Queens Chamber of Commerce and Partnerships for Parks.
