Help Turn the Compost Pile during “Community Day at Orkestai Farm”
November 14 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join us on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 am to Noon at Orkestai Farm, on the grounds of the magnificent Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay.
The farm will be alive with activity!
CPN runs a community composting project there — called “Community Composting at Orkestai Farm” — and we will do a full turn of the pile that day. Please help share the load! Community service credit is available.
If you do come to the farm, have a look around — you’ll see the fall crops, and can even help to plant garlic and perform other farm tasks.
If you are “done” with your Halloween pumpkins by then, bring them to Orkestai! They’ll be composted on the farm’s “big pile.” (no painted pumpkins, please).
